My family has used Mary Miller for over 20 years. I personally have used Mary Miller for the last 5. I have very basic taxes, 10-99, mileage, expenses, only takes a professional 20 minutes. Last year, when Mary Miller filed my taxes, it cost me around $120. Mary Miller was fully booked this year so they handed me over to another account, Kailey. Kailey charged me $325 for the same exact thing that Mary Miller charged me $120 to do last year.
When I asked how/why I was charged this much, they explained to me that I made more than I did the previous year so it took a lot longer.apparently 3 hours longer. They ended the conversation by telling me to go elsewhere, which I gladly did. If you do have to use them, only use Mary Miller.

I was a client of Miller Verchota for several years. However, in 2018 they advised me on a Roth IRA conversion. Their miscalculation ended up costing me $20,000 in payments to the IRS on my 2018 federal return. Their daughter and employee Jamie Seda did our taxes. Quite frankly not even sure she is a CPA. As soon as I questioned them on this egregious error, they told me that I am no longer a client and needed to find another tax firm.
This was a few weeks before the IRS deadline of April 15th. I paid Miller Verchota good money for this advice and this is what I received in return. Very poor and neglectful advice. Never again. I would highly recommend avoiding Miller Verchota for any financial / tax advice or anything else for that matter.
