Houlihan, LLP's origins date back to 1952 when James J. Houlihan Sr. returned to hometown Fort Wayne after a few years on the audit team with Price Waterhouse now PriceWaterhouse Coopers in Chicago. Starting with a mere one customer, he built a company through steady growth and remained independent until his retirement and sale of the company in 1989 to two of his sons, James Jr., and Patrick who joined the company after years working within the Atlanta offices of Arthur Anderson and Price Waterhouse, respectively.
