We are seeing a lot of people owe on their tax return due to the Advanced Payments of the Child Tax Credit in 2021. Be sure to pay attention so you know what you can expect when you file your tax return this year. The American Rescue Plan included more benefits for taxpayers than just the 3rd stimulus payment. If you haven't heard about the Advance Child Tax Credit, it is an increase in the child tax credit from $2,000 to either $3,000 or $3,600 depending on children's ages with advance monthly payments running from July to December of 2021.
