R C Jones & Associates Inc - Robert Jones

RUN AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN! After my accountant retired I was told RC Jones would be taking over the client list. I dropped off my taxes to RC Jones in person at their office on March 4, 2022 and was told they were 3-4 weeks out. They did not get my taxes done until 5/10/22 (I had to initiate contact myself after the 3-4 weeks passed and then again on the day they were due).

I picked up my taxes on the same day I was finally told they were ready- May 10. I immediately wrote a check to pay the IRS that same day and drove the payment to the local post office. My check included penalties and interest for the firms inability to get my taxes done on time. When I asked what they would do about the delay they said they filed an extension and would take care of any fees. Well, I have been charged penalties and interest for the original month delay because of their inability to complete their business on time.

They did not "take care of the penalties and interest" accrued by their incompetence. Furthermore, today, I received a letter from the IRS. Additional charges for interest because the IRS didn't get the check in time. When I contacted the RC Jones I was told "we had late payment penalty calculated to May 13th. If payment was made after that date, then that would account for any additional balance due" Are you kidding me?!?

They gave the post office a whole 3 days to process my check and get it into the hands of the IRS after giving themselves over 2 months to get my taxes done? I have been filing taxes with the IRS for over 40 years and have never filed late, never been charged penalties or interest until I did business with this firm. I am sick to my stomach that I trusted RC Jones with something so important.

I do not recommend them no matter what excuse they might come up with in the future. At this point, I would trust some guy doing business out of the back of his truck before going back to them.

A valuable asset to my business. Always willing to explain things and navigate the tax code. They have a great team. Cindy keeps my payroll going, Brook balances the books and Rob helps with taxes. Thanks guys!

I have always done my taxes by myself and had a lot of paperwork for this years and was so nervous. I reached out to Rob and his team and was taken care of in a timely fashion! I will most certainly be using them every year and even more so for any financial needs moving forward!

Rob and his team were really easy to work with. They were organized, current on the most recent tax code, and spent the time to help us understand our options. My expectation walking in was that breaking even was my best case scenario compared to an alternate tax service, but I saved several thousand dollars and I'm thrilled. Sure everyone will have a different tax profile and experience, but I make a point to share 5 stars whenever it's earned. Highly recommended!

I am getting the run around after 3+ years of using and trusting this company. Now in the middle of a financial crisis, globally and personally there is no help or response to be offered. unorganized.
