Many credit card companies are trying to hike the APR's before the 2010 deadline that would actually outlaw this practice. I was hit by Capital One with a double APR with no justification, no prior late fees, and excellent credit. National Consumer Rights answered quickly my questions on my rights and reconfirmed by suspicions of what to do within 5 minutes.

Thanks.

I contacted NCRA last September (2008), after my divorce was final. My ex-husband had left me with a number of past due and unpaid accounts, including collection accounts and a tax lien. Working with NCRA, they were able to help me correct my credit report to the point that they were able to qualify me for a mortgage for a new home. My score increased over 150 points in just under six months.

I would recommend NCRA to anyone who is facing any type of legal or credit challenge. Their attorneys are top notch also, and they helped me get a traffic ticket dismissed without my even having to appear in court! They are wonderful people, and always available.
