Services
Wermer, Rogers, Doran & Ruzon, LLC (WRDR) is a full-service CPA firm delivering accounting, tax and audit solutions to meet the advisory and compliance regulatory needs of our clients. Our professionals are experienced, highly trained and well-versed in a variety of industries. We bring the expertise of a large firm with the personal attention and individualized approach you can only receive from a local, mid-sized firm.
Accounting is not as simple as it used to be. Increased regulations and tax laws, the use of technology and information security demands are more complex. It can be difficult for a small, internal accounting group to remain trained and current on these matters. Let our firm's expertise and professionals handle your accounting for you.
Our auditors address the compliance requirements imposed by banks, outside investors, governments, Boards of Directors or internal management. We offer high quality services and provide meaningful observations and recommendations based on our experience. Our services range from certified financial statements to compiled and customized reports used for management's internal needs.
WRDR provides tax planning and reporting services to support businesses, executives inside the company, not-for-profit organizations and individuals. Taxes have a substantial impact on a company's bottom line, and our experienced professionals are trained in the complex and often difficult to understand issues, including tax incentives and credits.

WRDR is unresponsive and unprofessional. This was the worst experience I've had with an accounting firm in the past 20 years. Mary Lancaster was both rude and unprofessional. I advise anyone looking for a good accounting firm to stay away from WRDR!

UPDATE! 5/15/21 - Over 2.5 months ago WRDR mis handled my taxes and thank God my federal was finally corrected ( by someone else) and came through. My state tax return has an issue that has yet to be resolved. So they leave a generic scripted reply about striving to provide a service and blame COVID for their terrible service. WRDR plays that game of Grapevine with your taxes. Jessica accepted the job, Ivan had it dumped off on him yet the only signature on ANY of my paperwork is this Tom guy?

Their not even confident enough in their own work to put their own name on it. Who does that? As a small business in Joliet effected by the lockdown I needed a professional service to sort it out so i gave them a call and spoke to Jessica and said she would help. I explained my situation and she gave me a quote. When I dropped off my tax info, that was the last time I heard from her.

Two weeks later I still haven't heard anything so I reached out and asked for an update and emphasized that I NEED to get my taxes done ASAP and was informed that she passed my taxes off to Ivan who had my paperwork sitting on his desk on hold because he had a few questions. No one had made any attempt to reach out by phone or email until I contacted them.

He was asking for information that Jessica already had but forgot to forward to him followed by a simple yes or no question that I quickly answered by email since they would never return an actual call. Finally I thought we were getting somewhere until another week went by without hearing anything at all. I reached out again to find out that Ivan had another question for me and everything was on hold again!

I called to ask about the hold up and no one would return my phone call, eventually I got an email asking if I had any dependents which was a quick (no) answer before another week would go by without a word! When I called them the receptionist told me my taxes were done and ready to be picked up and they had tried calling which they most certainly did not and claimed to have emailed me to let me know but when I checked my inbox found this to be incorrect.

Since they said I could pick them up I drove up and when I was given the total on what I owed, it was over $300 more than what Jessica originally quoted me and had to wait to get that sorted out. I heard a few times that "that's a Tom question" whoever that was because I reached to him at one point and he never responded, it's always Jessica instead.

My total was still higher than originally quoted but I was glad to be done with them. When I finally had my taxes in hand it was a few large envelopes with the IRS address on them. They tell me that they cannot file my taxes electronically and all I had to do was put my name, address and stamp on it. 10 weeks later I get a letter from the IRS telling me that something was missing and I sat on hold for over an hour before I spoke with an agent for almost 90 minutes before they figured out that WRDR forgot to include my W-2 and when I went through the paperwork that I got back from them, they never returned the physical copy that I dropped off.

When I called them I was finally able to speak to Jessica though she had Ivan do my taxes and explained what I received in the mail and asked "what happened?" she replied "that happens sometimes" like it was no big deal and offered no apology. Since they still had a scanned copy of it she offered to send me a copy and when I thanked her she says "we're here to help".

The IRS told me I could email my W-2 but it would still take as long as 200 days to process and get things sorted out IF that was the only error they made. Now I'll most likely miss this new window of opportunity to get that PPP loan which could cost me my business. Thanks for NOTHING WRDR for a terrible service! Now, i have to wait for the IRS to sort out their mess so i can get a competent tax service to amend these returns and have them done correctly. covid is no excuse for terrible service and my account is down $1100.00 for nothing! DO NOT LET THESE PEOPLE TOUCH YOUR TAXES!

After being instructed to upload my documents in order to be helped, I waited over a week after uploading and had to send a follow up email in order for someone to start working on my case. In addition, the team was not communicative in the process of assisting me, they didn't even have a phone call with me, it was all through sparse email communication. Nearing the end, I was promised a call within a few days to finalize and send my documents. However, over two weeks passed and no one called or emailed me.

Very unprofessional service with zero concern about helping me. They could have said no to my request if my case wasn't profitable enough for them to care. They will probably blame the pandemic but that has nothing to do with not even calling or emailing the client and deliberately lying. What makes it worse is the high hourly price I was quoted when I inquired about prices. Do they actually think this kind of service is worth over 100 dollars an hour?

I have been working with Jessica at WRDR for almost two years now. My husband and I were so pleased with how she helped us navigate through him starting a business and all that it entails that we have referred many family and friends to this firm. WRDR offers a multitude of services and seems to always make time for a quick call, email, anything to make sure I feel like my questions are being answered. I always know the status of our projects and am provided with a timeline. I would recommend this firm to anyone!

In search of a new accounting firm to handle my multi-state return, I went last week and spoke with Cathy. The team was incredibly kind and Cathy took time to answer all of my questions. I never felt rushed and left feeling confident that they could handle my return as long as I did everything I am supposed to do. Beautiful office and LOVE the tasty chocolates by the door!
