In 2016, a captive insurance cell was started with this company. With premiums paid in equaling nearly $700,000 by the beginning of 2018. After learning the structure was part of an IRS watchlist of unapproved tax situations, the account was closed and company dissolved. Premiums were returned in the amount of $585,000, with the remaining $112,000 being held as reserves.
It has been 3 years since closure of this account has taken place, and we are still fighting to get the other $112,000 in reserves that were held back. In December 2019, Ed Lloyd told us the IRS was auditing claims and that reserves had to be held. In September of 2020, Ed Lloyd still told that the IRS had cases and claims they were auditing and needed to settle.
In July 2021, there were still IRS audits happening, and these reserves couldn't be returned. This type of company wasn't an allowed structure based on IRS guidance, so all tax deductions were removed, and the company was dissolved. Yet 3 years later, there has been zero effort to return the $112,000 that Ed Lloyd still owes us. This seems like it will forever be an excuse to not return our money.
There have been phone calls and voicemails left with no return call. It is unfortunate that a review is what it will take to get a response. If you deal with this company, do your own research and beware!

I have been using Ed Lloyd and Associates for 20 years for my taxes. This is a professional group of people that are efficient and great to work with. Special Kudos to Amanda P. she has personally handled my taxes, great job! Several years ago I had a 1099 Form that I missed and the IRS was hitting me for a large sum. Ed Lloyd redid my taxes from the previous year and turned it around where they owed me.
I honestly can't say enough good things about them. I started in Charlotte then continued when I moved to Columbia and now will only let them handle my taxes and I am in Florida. Thank y'all.

I have been using Ed Lloyd since he first began his business which may have been back in the 90s. I use their services for my tax returns. I take all my information into them and within a week 10 days I get my return back and it is filed. Everyone in the office is so down to earth and so pleasant I would highly recommend Ed Lloyd and associates to anyone. I know when I call and leave a message for Amanda it will be returned in a very short time. I am very pleased with their services.
