Have you just started a new business? Did you know expenses incurred before a business begins operations are not allowed as current deductions? Generally, these start up costs must be amortized over a period of 180 months beginning in the month in which the business begins. We had our taxes prepared here and when we received the bill I was shocked. Almost $1000.00 to file and all we have are w-2s and a house. I asked for an itemized bill with his hourly rate and how he came up with $1000.00. Instead of providing us that information he cancelled his services and now a month away from our taxes being due, we have to find someone else. I DO NOT recommend this guy to anyone. It's highway robbery to charge someone that kind of money to prepare your taxes.
