I began my accounting career with KPMG Peat Marwick, one of the Big Four accounting firms. I started with KPMG as a tax accountant and later transferred to their Middle Market department which specializes in the audits of smaller, non-public companies. After more than two years at KPMG, I decided to move to a small, more intimate local accounting firm. There, I eventually became an accounting and tax manager.
Now, I am a sole proprietor and have my own accounting and tax practice. Specializing in both accounting and taxes allows me to help my clients in all areas of their businesses and to establish strong, trusting relationships with them.

I am a small business owner and wasn't comfortable with who I had doing my bookkeping and taxes. I decided that I needed to get a handle on things and started by taking a QuickBooks class. Then, I began a search for a Quickbooks certified accountant here in San Jose to do my 2008 taxes and help me with any QuickBooks questions I might have. I found Amy Marcoccia!
She turned out to be just the person I was looking for. I sent her my books for 2008. It didn't take her long to figure out that I had been over paying on my taxes; both federal and state. She wanted to see my return for 2007. Same thing. We ended up going back to 2005 and long story short, she amended the returns for those years and as I'm writing this, am waiting on my refunds from the IRS and I.O.U.'s from the state of California.
Amy is always available when I call or she returns my calls immediately. I like the working relationship we have and her fun sense of humor. I always know everything's going to be 'okay' after talking to her.
